Write for us
We welcome pitches that make a particular part of match culture easier to understand, whether it is a rule, a format, a tactical pattern, a sporting custom or a way of watching.
What makes a good pitch
Send a focused proposal with a working title, the central question, the intended reader and a short account of the explanation or example you would build around. Strong pitches have a clear scope, use accessible language and separate verifiable rules or history from analysis. We are interested in original work, not match predictions, unsupported claims or a retelling of a recent result.
Useful subject boundaries
A pitch might compare two ways a game restarts, explain how a format changes the match clock, trace the purpose of a familiar piece of match language, or suggest a viewing approach for newcomers. Keep the idea specific enough to answer in one article and avoid advice that depends on readers acting as officials or professionals.
Sending a proposal
Use the Contact page and choose the editorial question option to send your proposal. Include any relevant writing samples or source suggestions in the message, but do not send unpublished work that you do not wish us to review. We cannot promise a response or publication.
